Maxxing / Research term
Context-maxxing
Informal language for investing in maintained sources, instructions, examples, tool definitions, and evaluation cases instead of treating the model prompt as the whole system.
Context-maxxing emphasizes the assets a workflow supplies at run time. A sales team might maintain current product facts, deal-stage definitions, examples, tool schemas, and retrieval rules. Those assets can survive a model change when their formats and assumptions remain compatible, but no context package works unchanged across every vendor or task. Its value comes from ownership, provenance, relevance, and tests rather than from quantity.
Builder example
Maintained sources and evaluation cases reduce dependence on one chat or prompt and make model comparisons possible. Model capability still matters, and a stronger model may need less scaffolding or use the same context differently. Evaluate the complete model-context-tool system.
You spend an hour refining a prompt that produces excellent client proposals. The next day, you close the browser tab and the prompt is gone.
Save your working prompts, examples, and templates in a file or note you control. The best context should survive a closed tab.
Common confusion: Context-maxxing does not mean cramming every available document into the prompt window. Unstructured bulk context often degrades quality. The goal is curated, relevant, well-organized material.
