You know how to save and push a project version. Now imagine a redesign that will take several days while a small correction needs to go out today. Keeping the work on separate branches, named lines of Git commits, lets the correction proceed without publishing the unfinished redesign. Later you can review which experimental changes to keep.

A merge combines changes from one branch with another. This course follows that whole journey: develop work separately, inspect it and bring the approved result into the version people rely on. The same concepts help when several people or agents contribute at once. You direct what should remain separate and what belongs together; the coding agent can carry out the Git operations.
