What does connecting a source change?
A connected source is an account your assistant is allowed to read: your Gmail, your calendar, your meeting transcripts. Connect one and the assistant can answer from your account's facts, the sender, the date, the thread, the meeting time, instead of offering general advice.
Without the connection, even a capable assistant is locked out. Ask about the client email waiting on you, and it can only describe what such emails tend to look like.
Access does not make an answer automatically correct, though. The assistant can search the wrong range, miss a thread, or misread a message. A reliable request names the source and time period and asks for a cited record, so you can inspect the evidence before acting.

Your assistant is connected to Gmail. You need the date Leila proposed in a long thread. Which request uses that access and still gives you a way to check the answer?

Ask which answer you could verify afterward.
